EFT briefing is an unofficial Escape from Tarkov fan tool for discussing maps, tasks and plans with your squad. It is not affiliated with Battlestate Games. Core features are free, with no feature differences for supporters. The Windows app and browser version can join the same Room (shared space). The Windows app also offers automatic log and screenshot integration, which is not available in the browser.

1. Local processing and storage

Selected logs are read incrementally to derive task start/completion, character and mode locally. Screenshot filenames determine in-game position/direction. Raw logs, images, filenames, absolute paths, original Profile IDs and parser checkpoints are not sent to the Room server. Preferences, consent version, random client identity, LOCAL memos, task/parser state and the latest position are stored on the device. LOCAL manual pins/strokes and Room connections do not persist across restarts. Uninstalling does not necessarily erase all browser/device storage.

2. Information sent to the server

Room participation, synchronization, reconnection and authorization use random clientId/sessionId, display name, color, UI language, desktop/browser type, mode, Room settings, shared active task IDs, chat/references, the selected sound kind for audible quick messages, manual pins/strokes/notes, operation IDs and timestamps. Position sharing defaults ON for new setup and can be disabled; an explicitly saved OFF remains OFF. When enabled, a fresh post-join capture sends Map ID, normalized in-game coordinates, direction and update time. Sharing OFF prevents sends and requests removal of the shared position. Offline edit history is not queued; reconnection may reconcile one eligible latest position.

3. Room retention

Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects hold current Room state and distribute it to participants. Chat retains the latest 100 user/system messages during the Room lifetime, including after the author leaves. Formal leave removes that member's manual objects, task contribution and position. A temporary disconnect retains state for a reconnection grace period of up to 120 seconds. The final member's formal leave deletes Room content and Room rejoin blocks. Invite/index cleanup retries after infrastructure failures. There is no long-term Chat/Raid history feature. This describes application storage, not a guarantee of instant erasure of participants' copies or infrastructure technical records.

4. Public and prejoin information

The Public Directory shows Room name, member count/capacity, leader name, Map, mode and Room language. Current player display names are also indexed for partial search. Private Rooms and their player names are not included. The Directory does not contain chat, pins/strokes, task IDs, positions, clientId/sessionId or Logs/Profile data. Prejoin previews expose only minimal Room metadata and joinability.

5. Infrastructure and external providers

Cloudflare is the intended app/update/Room host. Network destinations receive connection information such as IP addresses and may process it for delivery and security. The app does not implement advertising tracking, analytics, permanent accounts or a payment database. Loading external map images or opening references contacts their providers. Ko-fi and its payment providers (such as PayPal or Stripe) are external services. The operator may see payer-provided names/email addresses, amounts and transaction identifiers through their dashboards or notifications, but does not sync supporter identities into the app. See providers' policies for their retention and international processing.

6. Contact and choices

X account information, inquiry contents and necessary transaction details are used to respond, resolve issues, maintain safety and meet legal obligations, and should not be retained unnecessarily. Do not send unnecessary raw logs, screenshots or card details. Folder integration and position sharing are configurable; LOCAL memos have a deletion control. Requests are handled subject to verification and law; the operator may not be able to access local-only data or restore deleted Room data.
